LH firewall rust that was hidden beneath the LH subframe.

Rusted section removed and prepared for replacement piece.

RH bulkhead panel had significant rust and replacement of the full panel was the best solution. Lower area where it joins the floor was completely missing.

The new floor has been welded in place and the old bulkhead panel removed. A section of the transmission tunnel has also been cut out to remove further rust.

Welding the repair panels in place. The MIG welder was a very good investment.

A few small rust spots were found around the RH firewall under the alternator regulator, these were patched and welded as needed.

It was amazing how many small rust spots were found as items were removed. No idea what caused some of these but they were an easy fix.

This rust spot near the RH bonnet lock was a bit awkward to repair.

Preparing the firewall/bulkhead area for painting. Carefull sanding and surface preparation followed by high build two pack primer and detail sanding.

Applying the final coats of two pack Old English White.

The finished product. Carefully applied two pack paint provides an excellent gloss straight off the gun.

It's amazing the difference a shiny new coat of two pack paint can make. Ready and waiting for the renovated subframes.
